Italy legend to come to Tehran

36th Fajr International Film Festival is scheduled to receive Italian actor Franco Nero as a guest.

Italian actor Franco Nero will make a presence as the special guest at the 36th Fajr Int'l Filmfest in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Being born on 23 November 1941, the prolific Italian actor, Francesco Clemente Giuseppe Sparanero better known by his stage name Franco Nero has appeared in some 200 cinema and TV productions.

He made a name with his title character in Sergio Corbucci's 'Django' and its sequel 'Django Strikes Again' directed by Nello Rossati.

He has been in a number of English movies including Renny Harlin's ' Die Hard 2', Menahem Golan's ' Enter the Ninja' and ' Force 10 from Navarone' by Guy Hamilton.

Nero has several international awards nominations in his resume including 1968 Golden Globes, USA nomination with the movie 'Camelot'.

He has also won a number of national and International awards such as 2007 Transilvania Int'l Film Festival and 1971, 2006 Golden Goblets, Italy.

Fajr International Filmfest pays tribute to quality local and international films. It is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and showcases films promoting artistic contribution to the medium.

The festival consists of three main sections which are Cinema Salvation, Eastern Vista and Cup of Divination.

It also enjoys 11 parallel sections and Docs in Focus is among them.

Directed by well-known Iranian helmer Reza Mirkarimi, 2018 edition of Fajr International Film Festival is slated for April 19-27, 2018.
